Henry Cejudo Loses UFC Title On Flight Trip

Henry Cejudo has lost UFC gold, not to a fighter though. During his flight to Moscow, Russia over the weekend the airport lost his luggage. Which included the gold he won in his fight against Demetrious Johnson, at UFC 227.

“Unfortunately, my belt is in my luggage,” Cejudo told reporters, “So now, on top of my gold medal, now it’s my belt. I don’t know what it is about gold. I can’t keep it.

“Let’s be honest, material comes and goes. It’s the memories, it’s the legacy that comes with being a champion,” Cejudo said. “I’m going to get a gold medal back. I’m going to get a belt back. But it’s the memories that come with that that makes it special.”

Henry Cejudo also lost his Olympic gold medal, Olympic ring, and Olympic belt inside a California hotel room that he had to flee, due to a wildfire. Tough break, I know I would have some serious sentimental attachment to anything like this.

UPDATE – After 8 days Henry Cejudo was reunited with his belt.
