Valentina Shevchenko won a one sided fight last night against Priscila Cachoeira (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC). This was Priscila’s first fight with the UFC. The fight was about as one sided as a fight could get. The total strike count ended up being 217-1 according to FightMetric statistics.
Priscila didn’t just lose, she took a beating. Valentina is not your average fighter, she’s a legit contender, making a statement in the new 125 pound weight class. Looking great on her feet but also on the ground. Valentina scored a early take down in round 2, then landed some brutal ground and pound.
Valentina went on to win the fight by Rear Naked Choke in the second round. With the fight over, the real talking point has been about Mario Yamasaki. Many feel Mario did a bad job reffing this fight. Dana White went as far to say that he hopefully will never set foot in the Octagon again.
