Donald Cerrone came in hot at 170, finishing 4 in a row. After losing three in a row he will now look to change it up and head back down to lightweight, a division he once fought for the title at. He will also look to reduce how often he fights. He had this to say on The Fighter and The Kid podcast.
“I’m there five [more] years. I’m going back to 155. I’m only 175, I’ve been waking up at 175 everyday so it’s like pffft, I’m fine. I’m more focused. At 170, I can just not train and fuck off. I put more into it at 155 so let’s do it, let’s have a couple more fights. I probably won’t take 20 a year anymore. I’m probably gonna take it down a little bit.”
2017 wasn’t Donald’s year, losing all 3 fights, 2 by knock out. Lets hope he can get it going again at lightweight. It’s worth mentioning that even though he lost, his fight against Robbie Lawler was a great fight, very entertaining and very close.
